Hosted on June 23, 2025, the Cancer Council Evaluation, Epidemiology, and Surveillance Workgroup meeting featured two presentations for the cancer evaluation and surveillance community:
DSR Consulting shared about an ongoing initiative that will strengthen data and evaluation capacity across cancer grantees. The presentation shared how the initiative is designed to foster a culture of evaluative thinking. Ultimately, this work will promote the increased use of evaluation findings to inform program enhancements and drive measurable improvements in health outcomes.
Dr. Jill MacKinnon shared about the Fundamental Learning Collaborative for the Cancer Surveillance Community, also known as FLccSC, or “flossy.” FLccSC is a web-based, stand-alone learning management system (LMS) designed to help grantees achieve NPCR standards for data quality, timeliness, and completeness. FLccSC is used by cancer surveillance professionals at all experience and skill levels to disseminate courses and promote collaboration. FLccSC's membership represents 94% of the incidence reporting in the United States.
